Teaching Technology

There are a lot of really great apps for the vast array of tech devices that populate the family home. It is almost impossible for something as antiquated as a piano to compete for time with an IPad. I therefor use technology during the lessons and encourage its use at home. Here are some really great apps for students, parents, and teachers.

Staff Wars is a great game where you shoot notes on the staff. We have a high score board in the studio for the students who "shoot" the most notes. I have the IPad version and I think it cost $1.00

Rhythm Cat Pro is for rhythm of course. The player taps rhythms to a beat and backing musical tracks. They are a lot of fun and grow quite complex. involving different coloured notes to be tapped by each hand. This app was around $4.00 and the Lite version was free.

Tenuto is for Ear Training and Intervals and a host of other skills. This can help so many different things that it is definitely worth picking up for $4.00 or so.
